For repairs, we use photos, video, system readings and testing to identify the problem before recommending work.
For installations, we measure the home, calculate its heating and cooling needs, select equipment that fits those findings and evaluate the ductwork or distribution system supporting it.
We explain the options, provide the price in writing and let you decide what happens next.
Learn About Our ProcessThe repair-first difference
We do not recommend replacement when a practical repair can solve the problem. Our technicians are paid to diagnose the system and do the job correctly-not to earn a commission from selling new equipment.
When another company has recommended replacement, we test, measure and document the equipment before agreeing that replacement is necessary.
In the second-opinion calls we receive after another company recommends replacement, we find a repairable problem about 80% of the time.
In roughly one out of five of those calls, replacement is the right decision. When the findings support replacement, we explain why and show you what we found.

Planning a new system?
A new system begins with an in-home assessment. We measure the space, calculate its heating and cooling needs, review the existing distribution system and explain the options that fit the home.
The goal is not simply to install equipment. It is to design a system that works with the home, the occupants and the way the space is actually used.
617 HVAC helps eligible homeowners understand available Mass Save heat-pump incentives, qualifying equipment requirements and the documentation connected to the project.
